Most of us want to remain living in our own home as we age. So, the home help for pensioners allows people to stay safe and comfortable in their own home, without having to move.
At Adssi, we are passionate about supporting our clients to live their best lives, at home and in their local community for longer. We can provide a range of practical in-home support services including house cleaning for the elderly and other things that make staying at home comfortable and safe.
Depending on the level of support that you require, various services are available. The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) provides low-level support up to 1.5 – 2 hours a week. For anyone needing higher levels of support a Home Care Package may be the best option.
Home Care Packages range from Level 1 – Level 4 and have the flexibility to be tailored to your individual situation.

Home help for the elderly
As you grow older, it may become increasingly difficult to perform home maintenance jobs as well as some of the basic day-to-day tasks to keep things clean, tidy and most importantly safe.
If you’re over 65 you may be eligible for subsidised in-home aged care including help with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry, gardening and maintenance. If you’re after some help to stay living safely and independently, get in touch with Adssi.
Commonwealth Government Funded Support
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) provides subsidised entry-level and short-term support for older Australians wishing to stay living in their own home.
Subsidised home help for people over the age of 65 is available through the government’s My Aged Care. You can receive help with household tasks, as:
- Cleaning;
- Transport to appointments;
- Personal care;
- Meal preparation and grocery shopping;
- Social support;
- And many more.
Under the CHSP program, the key focus is “doing with” – not “doing for”. Rather than ‘taking over’ the aim is to keep people as independent as possible. You can expect about 1.5 – 2 hours help per week under this program. If you need more help you may be eligible for a Home Care Package which provides more hours and more options.
You can receive help from the CHSP if you are 65 or over and are living independently. To find out if you’re eligible for subsidised in-home aged care services please contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422. Once you have a referral code, you can contact Adssi for help anywhere across the Central Coast.

Choosing the Right Service Provider
If you’re eligible for in-home aged care you will receive a letter from My Aged Care with a referral code for a service or services.
Choosing a not-for-profit provider like Adssi In-home Support means that your contributions are flowing directly towards program and services – rather than shareholders and their dividends.
